Description

An exstensive rework of my original project SF Snake Plain MP.

SF Snake Plain Air Insertion MP is a 24 player night time multiplay version of snake plain with a paradrop insertion.

Special Recon mission: Complete the three objectives within the time limit or eliminate all opposing forces.

Counter Recon mission: Defend all objectives and/or eliminate all opposing forces.

There is a verry exstensive tunnel system and alot of extra goodies spread throughout the map as well as a complete rework of the commolocation setup to reflect your actual location better when you report in.

This mission is currently in beta 4 and is expected to be released 02/09/08

I've been working with SgtMay during the beta testing of this map. There are a lot of other comments on the FMZ website regarding this awesome map.

In a nutshell, this is the SF Snakeplain map at night with a number of modifications to it. The assault team airdrops into the map in HAHO mode (high altitude, high opening). This allows the assault team to fly their 'chutes almost anywhere on the map. The clouds help hide the assault team until they are nearly on the deck, so that they are not sitting ducks in their harnesses. Only objective A is seen on SAI by the assault team upon map start.

The terrain surrounding the fort (especially the East hills) have been modified to provide better cover and to allow soldiers to move behind the tall ridgeline to the south. Entry into the extensive tunnel system involves a somewhat open assault with limited cover, which is where good sniper cover is essential.

(darned character limits...)

Unlike the original SF Snakeplain, snipers are truly a force to be reckoned with on this map. Their covering fire is essential to allow the assault team to get into the fort or tunnels. Defense has the advantage here because of the time limits, but this advantage is limited if the assault team works a coordinated attack using sniper cover fire. TeamSpeak or other voice comms have definite advantages here. There are weapon caches scattered around the map near the objectives, so even a sniper has the opportunity to infiltrate and seize objectives using captured CQB weapons.

With limited members on each team, the map is a sniper/countersniper match. With 5 or more players on each side, the map really shines. Knowing when to 'sneak and peek' versus knowing when to run balls-out for an objective will be a deciding factor for the winning team.

Well said, snipers are the key for both teams on this map.
