Description:

Mission takes place in a top secret, 4 story modern corporate headquarters building. Random objectives must be accomplished prior to extraction utilizing the HMMWV.
This is a large map (60 megs) and thus requires a decent system.

ASSAULT
1. SITUATION: A rebel group has infiltrated the corporate headquarters of a top secret research company.
2. MISSION: Enter the building with out being detected and locate the intel. Proceed to the garage level where a Humvee is waiting. Extract your force from the compound using the north access tunnel. You will need to protect and secure the Humvee!
DEFENSE
1. SITUATION: A rebel group is attempting to infiltrated the corporate headquarters of a top secret research company.
2. MISSION: Repel the Rebel group, locate the intel and protect in place. Secure the garage level access point and prevent the Rebel group from leaving the compound thru the north tunnel access.

The inside looks plain... really gray. The outside is flat, add some hills,
etc. Other than that nice job and will be waiting for a download link.

I am currently fixing some bugs and hope to have a newer version soon.

Couple of minor ladder issues and some bright doors etc.
Adding in spectate locations and other misc items to complete the map.

Will probably not add in a lot of terrain and trees due to the file size
and the fact that 98% of the action takes place inside the building. The
overall concept of a top secret facility with the need for guard towers and
clear sightlines also does not lend itself well to alot of foliage.

Please enjoy the map and let me know of any bugs you may come across.(and
comments are always welcome, good or bad)

What's with all this making a map from scratch stuff? Just do like everyone
else and change a few things in a existing map and put your name on it. :)

You could easily reduce the map size by cutting all the useless gigantic
surrounding and putting some light fog. Also i have a question : i tought
you couldnt create new meshes for your map to be eligible to become
official, and i see a lot of new static meshes in there that doesnt come
from the game itself, is taht true?

It's a really good looking map. Everything is very clean and it looks
almost like a VR-tour then a AA-map. The only thing to complain about is
how tha map is lit. Some spots is very bright and some other is way to
dark. Other then that it's looks great. You got my vote.

still use the editor to create new things within the map.

I like that map. At first, I thought it would be too big, but after playing
it with only a few people, it goes fast. Plenty of places to explore,
snipe, hide and hunt.
Lots of potential with this map.

Finally a fresh take on a new map. This map is a blast to play. The random
objectives keep you thinking and there are so many routes to get into the
building and objective areas. I really like the addition of the humvee
which can be used for extraction. My frame rates inside were usually pegged
to the limit set by my refresh rate (75) which I found surprising for a map
of this size. 4 floors plus a garage and vent spaces, WOW!
And the sniper towers are pretty cool too.

I assume you mean the static meshes in myLevel?
It isn't too difficult to add something to the static meshes in myLevel.

Create your brushes they way you want them, select the ones you want then
right click and select the convert button. I think the options presented
are convert to brush and convert to static mesh. Select the latter.
You need to place them in myLevel so that they load when your map loads and
thus do not overwrite any of the DEV's resources.

Lesson learned..... you can't use a subtract brush as it will end up as a
regular brush when converted. Everything will need to be an add brush.

This is my first map ever so I'm no expert but that has been my method.

Yea Banshee... it is a bit large. When I first started I was invisioning 2
buildings but by the time I had the first half and lobby done I realized
only one building was going to be possible (maybe a 120 meg map would work
but I wasn't going to try it). Fortunatly I was able to keep the frame
rates pretty high so other than hard drive space this map runs great.

Mayor.... Hopefully we can get this map authorized and then some people
will pick it up and start playing it on servers that appear in the browser.
I unfortunatly am not in a clan and don't have a server so I'm unable to
host it. The No_BS guys, A.C.E., and AAMappers were cool enuf to run it for
a while but that is hit and miss as to when it is running.

Anyway, get your buddies to vote it up and help me get it authorized. Then
let me know where your playing and I'll come join you.

We are hosting new maps all the time and to get rid of the hit and miss
just stop by and let us know when you want it running on our server and we
will do our best to accomodate you. We can even see if we can get our
community to set up a fight night(hosted by -=AOGC=-( www.aogc.us ) with
your map in the rotation.

most of the bugs fixed I think. Waiting to see if I can update on mission
depot soon. Curious that the original version has been set to mission
capable and this one isn't yet. (Even tho they were submitted on the same

Nice looking map. Had a chance to play with some clan mates yesterday.

Are you going to add more "ambient" style noises? ie: you can hear the
hummer start in the garage from the 4 th floor. The E footsteps also give
away their positions alot of the time, because of the dead silence. The
elevator shaft going down the ladder has a slight problem. You cannot back
away from the ladder properly without going left. Also, I could see the OP4
in the hummer on my SAI, it shows who is driving and who is gunning etc. I
also found it near impossible to stop them once they were in the hummer, as
they have 5- cal and I wasn't going to run after them on foot. lol

All in all, good work on a really fun map. You got my vote man.

I'm hopeing that we get a chance to make some modifications. I have made
some revisions and would like the chance to change a few other things.
Additional ambient sound is a good idea which I will look at. The HumVee
showing on the SAI is a game engine issue so I don't think I can fix that.

I added the HumVee for the fun factor even tho I realize it is near
impossible to stop. The are a couple ways to stop it and still defeat the
assault team... but not many. There lies the challenge. (I have seen some
pretty creative attempts, some which worked and some tha didn't)

This is no good... let me explain:

This map would be great for another game, a game faster and more "arcade"
oriented like Unreal Tournament or something like that...
Considering the size of that thing, the number of rooms/doors is way to
much...imagine if your last guy is red somewhere in this awesomly huge
building, how long you think it will take before he get killed?! answer :
Forever ( "Way too long!" would have also been accepted )

Sry no vote here, you should consider cutting down the size of this
building by at least 50-60 %

BUG on the MAP. . . . .
There is a bug with Smoke grenades, when you frag a smoke grenade near a
window that has glass in it, you can see through the window like there is
no smoke there at all!
Will report anymore when i find them?
Other than that its a great map!!!

Getting ready to run this map on my server now that its FMC; do I have to

BUG REPORT:

1] North Stair and South Stair: Players fall through landings by the doors
when killed

2] Ventilation Access: Top of ladders at 4th floor, players can practically
'GHOST' the 4th floor and roof from that position

3] HUMMER Extraction: Hummer hangs in the end wall of the tunnel about 10%
of the time when being driven out

More to come as they are found.

Otherwise, this is a great map!

Ok why don't you map bashers do what you say and just put your America's
Army folder in the Recycle Bin on your desktop. You people kill me, like
you can do better? Can't even give the guy credit for making a totally
custom map, instead doing what alot of people do and just change an already
existing map...let me guess, that's something you'd do right? This is a
good map whether you think so or not. It's clear that mission depot thinks
it's good enough to get approved, then it's good enough for AA players to
play officially. So if your done talking trash upload your maps and let's
see how they measure up to the first approved map!

For anyone who needs a download link, just run America's Army, go to the AA
Browser and click on the DCDS tab, highlight Operation Shrouded Eagle and
download. Any new downloads the developers think are deemed worthy will be
listed in the DCDS section of the AA Browser.

Now I have the same problem :(
I downloaded the map but the download didn't stopp.
Now I can't play it. I find no server in the AA Browser where I can
download and play the map and I can't download the map in the DCDS menu
because there is nothing!!!

Great map, fun to play. But Buggy as all Buggy can be. This Map locks up
PC's. Kicks Most players for no packet flow. Has also other bugs where
people fall through the map, Briefcase vanishes. The tunnel, toss a nade
all the way to the end to blow up humv, from standing at the farthest
point on the end and get hit from your own nade. I also forgot to mention
heavy lag. so bad to the point on some servers once over a certain amount
of people its beyond playable. Also seen the humv drive off the map!

on the other note, would be nice to have 2 G's on Def side to combat the
humv.

It looks good, but I cannot play it. 4500 doors on the inside. You move
10m and you have to open another door. It's the closest thing to a maze
that I have seen on AA. Don't get me wrong, I like the idea of it, but a
smaller version would be better. Sorry, no vote here.

BOE. clan is hosting it at: 63.215.74.152:1716

Only complaint: Vehicle is reachable before OBJ B is done, making it
possible for either team to grab it early. Makes mission either impossible
or extremely difficult.

Suggestion: Close the tunnel on both sides of the vehicle until obj B is
done.

Great map btw.

HI,

I found a little bug,

When you enter the main entrance, with those 2 orange bowls, there is a
door on your left, in the left far corner, if you want to open it, it only
opens in 1 way and pushes you nearly into the wall...

I think the idea is good, but the map is just way too big, playing this map
is only fun with 13 players, with less its less fun, bad thing.

And indeed there are just too many doors, think of the fact that you can
shoot through a door there is no use in them only a waste of time, and a
crappy noise with every step you make, cos they are everywhere!

Probably a bit late o the commenting. Just wanna get what I see said.
Dont take anything personal.

You have a lot of vent areas. doors open. Do you have any way of getting
into them? A lot of the rooms are dead space. blank empty. Possibly add
storage boxes to eliminate dead space otherwise makes the map look plain.
Lighting a quite a few areas are off. Some lighting is passing through
from the outside. You will notice this in the darkest parts of rooms that
aren't colliding very well. A lot of the lights that are in the wall
decorations are burning. Should probably tone them down a little. Make
the wall a little more visible to give it that more of a realistic look. I
probably loaded up the wrong classes but if their is not night vision

Just a few thoughts, I know AA gave it the official go ahead. But you said
it yourself. "They built and released Water Treatment". Dont wanna go back
to find the thread and re-quote specifics. But i'm right there with you.

Hi,
I've downloaded the map, put in in MAPS, but when I press "deploy" there
are no servers listed. I'm on 2.8.3.1.
Any tips and tricks how to fix this?
