I have the same problem... no idea what's wrong. We really need some input on how to resolve this on our own, or if its a problem with AA itself.

I haven't had that problem on the one map that I tried
(MOUT McKenna XE) -- might be a problem with the map
file name on your computer (it's case-sensitive, so if
the server's copy of the map has a lower-case letter
where you have an upper-case letter, it won't work).

Just a quick question, hope it'll be answered here by
PR-SOL -- I noticed a map in the latest "tours.ini"
that is still marked as "not mission capable" here in
the Depot (it's "SF Hotel"). Does its inclusion in
"tours.ini" indicate that it will soon be granted the
"mission capable" status of which it is certainly
worthy? ;)

Maps made by DeltaThunder are good aswell. You should check them out. And dude calm down, I doubt that the PB maps are getting in.

I just realised that AAO tracker made all those map tracked on top of that...i just shut now its just beyond me!!

My mission (Graveyard SF) is included in the Master Browser but it is "Not Mission Capable" in the Mission Depot.

Ok if the tours.ini files have already been updated on the server and on the pc's why are NONE of the maps running authorized? They all show Unofficial ?

WHERE CAN YOU DOWNLOAD THE UPDATES FOR MAPS SO YOU DON"T GET A DCDS MESSAGE?

To those of you receiving the "DCDS" error message, this is because you don't have the map file in your Maps folder for the mission you want to play. Find the mission's profile here on Mission Depot and click the "Download Mission" button on the profile page. Make sure this file gets downloaded into the Maps folder of your America's Army installation. Then you will be able to play the mission in the game if you can find a server for it. That's all you need to do!

If you still get the DCDS error then look at the comments you might be able to get an updated version of the map. Also check AA forums and AA Tracker forums for other maps.

Cradoc, that first sentence is misinformation.

The only map you will be able to play on an Authorized server (i.e. a server in the game browser) is the version you find from Mission Depot. Not even the original map file submitted by the author himself will work, it must be the one from Mission Depot, period. If you think you have the correct custom map file downloaded but you still get the DCDS error, then you don't have the correct version of the map. Download it directly from Mission Depot to guarantee that the map will work.

I'm having an issue with Prison_Stryke. I put it on my server but it only allows one person to play at a time. Show's the others in the game but it says all the slots are full and typically only allows the person at the top of the team list to play. Is there a fix out for this?

As long as I understand the Mission Depot rename the submitted file using some pre defined standards, so if the author rename his own file accordingly it should work. Obviously it will not work if the author modify the map after submitting it.

Some people are asking me for the alternative link because they can't download from Mission Depot due to browser incompatibility. I have an alternative download link since I first submitted the map to Mission Depot and the file name and file size is exactly the same.

I think your right, the map just need to be the same "Save" version (To match the last edited time and correct file size), and be named correctly. The download link from were the map has been downloaded doesn't matter...

I did some homework on the new Tours.ini file and here is the outcome.

First of all, as already posted, the map base_assault.aao is listed twice in the file.

The following maps are in the file, but I cannot find a download link on the site:
- alpines_east.aao;
- depot_Cruchot.aao;
- oil_rig.aao;
- operation_shrouded_eagle.aao;
- pipeline_coop.aao;
- rh_kaleesha_flats.aao;
- sf_dune.aao;
- sf_engage.aao;
- sfdockside_extreme.aao;
- sniper_range.aao;
- strongholdv13_spartacus.aao.

There is also a map that is available for download, but is not listed in the file: nightfight_Sp3xops.aao.

And, last but not least the map village_rundown_FireArrow.aao is in the file and in the mission list, but cannot be downloaded.

That is not the only change that is performed after a map is approved. There are also some safeguards put in place so the map can no longer be edited after it is approved. Only the map file downloadable from Mission Depot contains these safeguards, and therefore will be the only map files that work when people try to run Authorized servers or join an Authorized server for your map.

Just download the version of your approved map from Mission Depot and use it instead if you plan on distributing your map yourself.

Downloaded maps from mission depot and uploaded them to a gameservers honor server,but always shows up as unauthorized and won't show up in the browsers.Can these maps be run authorized on an honor server ?

My question is the same. I downloaded the map Sledgehammer and put it in my maps folder. Then I also downloaded, saved to desktop, and dragged it into my clanservers game server map folder. We can play the map fine but shows as Unauthorized and everyone is 15 Honor.

Thanks for the info. I also realised that after posting, because the MD map is 3Kb bigger than my own map version and I couldn't join a server.

Anyway, I have downloaded it again form MD and everything is fine on client side, but my clan server do not show in the AA Master Browser list. It is a Honor server running Special Forces Graveyard on authorized mode. The server IP is 209.160.78.41

Could you please check what is going on?

Thanks for posting that, Ninja, it saved me the trouble of re-posting it here.

Just to make it clear, if you try to run a server in Leased-official mode with one of the Mission Capable maps on it, your server will run in Unauthorized mode, which you don't want. Remove the authentication data (Honor username/password) in order to achieve Authorized mode.

Found a problem,not sure if it's tours.ini or map related.
Only happens with sledgehammer which I downloaded from here, and I haven't touched the tours.ini file.

Ok, I'm not sure where I'm going wrong, but I can't seem to get Sledgehammer to play as Authorized/Honor on my server. Everyone ios listed at 15 Honor.
I downloaded from Mission Depot and saved it in my maps folder and also in my server maps folder at Gameservers.
I checked my Tours.ini file and Sledgehammer is listed with all the other maps. I also tried the suggestion above from Ninja. I went into my server config and first put a semicolin in from of my Honor User and Password. I also tried removing them. Still didn't work. What am I missing guys.

open your tours.ini file and scroll down.
search for the "Sledgehammer" section. and change the number from 56 to 2, as below.

A quick update on the status of the Tours.ini after the last update (2007-04-28).

All the points listed in my previous posts look solved apart for few maps that are still listed in the file, but not availble for download (at least I cannot find the link) on the AAMD site:

My alpines_east.aao map hasnt been approved/looked at yet,
so it's not available for Download and the free hosting site where i had it available for DL's canceled my account cause I didn't log in for 30 day lol?
I got a new job and can't fix the found problems with the map but I am waiting for an answer from my brother if he's willing to pick up on doing the revision/bug work it needs. So Alpines_East fans can have some hope for improvements, I hope.
If AA server admins want the map file I can email it to any who needs it thanks.

OK we Dl'ed the map pack from AA tracker. It has 38 maps and most of them work. But many still do not work or will not load at all. Also Special Forces Hospital Xtrem Edition looks cool but any time anyone dies the round ends and ambush wins--no matter who dies.

SFhospital NE used to work but now doesn't. Everytime we get into the map we get kicked as "player Not Qualified" This map is not on the tour.ini but it is in our map folder as we downloaded from AAMD. We have been able to play it before.

How do we fix it?

Graveyard SF (also known as Special Forces Graveyard on AA Master Browser) is not included in the AA tracker map pack, but it is authorized and works.

Please give a try. Download from Mission Depot at http://www.aamissiondepot.com/my_missions/graveyard_sf

The map "sf_oasis_guner.aao" has been removed from both the file and the site.

I would suggest to keep somewhere a change log with the list of maps added, removed, approved and so on both the site and the Tours.ini file.

Please dont make Full Mission Capable in any of this maps, I didnt find a good map to be FMC in this first MC pack. Maybe the coops ones. But multiplayer? No one reach the quality or the balance to be FMC.

Is this a safeguard issue or something?

I just can't believe the votes these maps are getting.
Ya look at one map that is fairly decent but yet lacking or having skipped the professional beautification process. Then we got these "super hit" maps that horde all the votes that totally suck, for some reason It's hard to believe the bad maps got all the comments & votes, and the decent ones... well, just don't have squat. For a serious Level Designer like myself & a handful of others this is really discouraging.

Give em all honor or don't let the votes decide honor or not. Time will tell what maps are being played most.

My map "Sf Cote Center" has got mission capable
status this week and i host a server for it but
it still wont appear in the map filter (browser)
of the game...anybody know why?

I was thinking Mission Depot could have some sort of "Bookmarks" to tag maps we like or that we have already downloaded.

There are 56 maps with Mission Capable status and other 119 waiting for approval, so it is very hard to know when the status of one new map is changed to Mission Capable. I have to browse all Mission Capable maps and compare them with my download list to identify if which one is new. If we could bookmark the maps the way they get highlighted or tagged in the list view would be much easier for us to download them.

By the way, any news about Full Mission Capable maps? This thread is already 42 days old.

Hi. I thin that you should not just have one catagory for maps. You should brak them down, havs a SF, sniper, normal section. And also have night maps, day maps. Team, CoOp. I think that this would help because I dont want to go and look at all 215 maps just to find what I am looking for. Then you could have the top 5, one for each type.

Most of us play the game to have fun,not honor.
If you grant honor to any playable map it wouldn't affect my choice to play there.But would Help create incentive to game server providers to host the new maps.There bye allowing those who want to try a new map the chance to do so.
Many missions that are honor right now have very little traffic.Certain missions ALWAYS seem popular.
I'm Glad to say most of the original 6 maps still have a following.
If you are going to make so many new maps available,then you should allow them Honor so to speak.

Yeah, my server is still showing the maps as (unauthorized server) (coop) 2.8.2. when playing the sledgehammer.aao map. The original maps say (Leased Official Server) and none of the user created maps do.

So how do I update my 2.8.2 server?

I dont mind not having honor or that the maps dont show as authorized. What I would like to see is when my server is in a user created map that it shows up in the AA Browser like the rest of the maps do. I change my server to a user created map and have to play it alone. The coop maps are all I can play the rest are boring. I played in a server on the sledgehammer map and It showed I had my honor, it showed up in the AA Browser and it was a Leasted Official Map. Where do I get the map? Is it special or is my servers setup wrong?

I've been a member 4 a while now but haven't done any training nor any missions, due to not knowing where to find it. I dont know much about computers, but if someone could please help me with a step by step process i would greatly appreciate it. thank you.

2] Ventilation Access: Top of ladders at 4th floor, players can practically 'GHOST' the 4th floor and roof from that position

maps on my server,but i cant play maps!
evrytime i can read following notice :
this player is not qualifed for this mission!!!
so i try to play the other maps too,but it allways heappnes the same thing
(crimson sunset,mountain pass avananche,weapons siege duo,
sf snakeplain_mp,sf suburbia,operation litterbox....)
again,first comes this notice and then server kicks me out,doesen´t matter
if i try to join the server as a playeradmin or admin,both doesn´t work´s.

1.how can i join the server as a admin?
2.what must i change in the server.ini exactly?
my server is registratet as a aa auth.server and the server.ini is ok too.(old auth.maps are ok)
